Beyond the historical districts and by incorporating stone and stucco elements, gravel driveways and indigenous plant materials, homes in Santa Fe can relate to southwest architectural history and still be as contemporary as the client wishes. Here we explore a home of simple volumes and elements as a contrast to the vertical and faceted Sangre de Cristo mountains beyond. Two design studies are presented for the living space.
